I have been remiss...

and have been urged to "update, baby, update!"

I failed to pre-post about some April gigage in Johnson City TN, that went both well and also sideways- there's an old showbiz saying... someone refers to a city or town , and you respond "Oh, I spent a week there, one night!"... well that's Johnson City for me.

That's all I'm sayin', and you can continue to wonder what I'm talking about if you don't already know. Has nothing to do with the Down Home- they were, and are, great to us there!

Anyway...

May shapes up that eric is across the pond in europe gigging vagabond style with his acoustic and Peter Cooper. Meanwhile I will be sitting in at the Heartlands Hayride radio show at a low power station (WDVR) in New Jersey on Saturday nights, may 10, 17, 24. This is a 2 hour broadcast of old school country entertainment and "comedy" broadcast live with a talent pool culled from the surrounding New Jersey hills. I've done this gig on and off for many years, and as a matter of fact was the original staff steel player for about 2-3 years. It's the challenge of live radio and backing folks with skills ranging from marginal karaoke to quite good. It's the gig I learned to count in 1/4 ( one, one, one, one) so I'm always on the downbeat if someone drops or adds a beat. They stream it at wdvrfm.org at 6 pm eastern time on Saturdays

Last Train Home will be coming to Beautiful Bucks County to play a show with Old School Freight Train at the Sellersville Theater on May 30th (we're opening the show for them) and then we will be at the Rams Head in Annapolis MD on May 31 with The Youngers opening for us.

The Youngers are a fine band from Reading area who I've sat in with on several occasions. They have recorded a forthcoming CD at the famous Cash Cabin (not to be confused with the Cash Cab) Studio with John Carter Cash producing.

so I hope that's enough to satisfy even the most curious. 'Cept for the details on Johnson CIty.

Thanks for the update. 'Preciate it.

As for Johnson City, besides the show, the best thing for me was seeing the white dog trotting down the side street at midnight. Cool.

So what happened that went sideways?

As a proper gentleman might reply: "I am not at liberty to say."
